Annielise Stone Reflections 10 years on from the start of the Millennium 2009.

I woke up this morning and my thoughts as always what is today and what am I going to do. December always seems to go in a flash as everyone is busy preparing for a few days of eating drinking and celebrating. The children get presents we try to see folks we have not seen in months or even years we all eat too much and most of us end up with at least one pair of socks from some distance family member.

Ten years on from the famous 1999 they wrote books they made films they talk about computer chaos the end of the world and civilization. But hang on a minute they talked about that in a George Orwell book 1984 and big brother watching you.

This chain of thoughts then went on even to the simplest things like now days you can’t be with out your Cell/ Mobile phone it’s almost to the point you can explode if you have lost or mislaid it. I know that some of you reading this will remember a time when we did not have such items or worried that we could not text. Communications has now be limited to symbols even the hardest languages in the world with over 2000 letter in the alphabet have the expression OK. Technology is amazing we have cars that we can’t service and we don’t repair the white goods any more computers every few years have a new must have. We have become a nation of throw aways and gadgets

We had such plans we were going into a new century yet came with it different sorts of problems wars recession bird flu swine flu. The year like every one see people who we love and care about leave the earth plane. We struggle with depression loneliness confusion and fear. We long for the time when it was simple and not complicated the added pressure of trying to be something or someone pushing us forward into debt.

Ten years on are we any happier are we any better off. For some No for other perhaps and for a few yes. I don’t want this to turn into a depressing blog for in all aspects of my opinion writing and thoughts it’s to empower others not to put them down. There is always going to be someone who you think is better looking has more money and has it all. If you ask them they probably find at least half a dozen reasons why also they consider their life sh.. Is the grass green on the other side No its still grass complete with different issues and problems and different ways and excitements.

The world woke up on the year 2000 and for some it had changed for others it was the same. Not really for nothing stays the same for every second something somewhere happens to someone. They get old they die they are born. We are the Human Race we have flaws and we are not perfect we make mistakes and we can be cruel. I like also to think we can be kind and fair too.

Life is a cup of half full’s or half empties the word is choice we try to make the right choice for the right time place situation. For people places and for ourselves. This blog is being written on one side of the hemisphere on the other side they are on the verge of another new year Welcome 2010 and should old aquatances be forgot or never come to mind. Remember people who you love remember people who made you laugh and remember people who made you think. To think is to be and from there you can act upon the next year to come with a fresh start and new belief that we can do better if we really put our minds to it Happy New Year and Welcome 2010.
